Today I am in the mood for a change.
Sun rays have lighted up this morning, this day. They have lighted up my heart and my soul.
I got up earlier than I usually do.
I took my small journal, put on “Nothin’ but love” by Whitney Houston and let my thoughts take over.
Changes are good, right? From time to time they are good for all of us.
If we don’t want to fall into the patterned stream of life, wrapped up in monotony then we need them in our lives.
They don’t do us any harm – that’s for sure.
Rumi once beautifully and wisely said: “Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself.” And it really is just like that – we always start with ourselves.
We have to be aware that we can change our way of life by first of all changing our way of thinking. If we truly want to be happy and feel fulfilled, we have to uproot every negative thought that has carved itself deep into our mind. And we know that that’s not impossible, on the contrary.
It’s necessary to be determined and have willpower then it’s very easy.
I am not talking about changes that demand money, I am talking about changes that actually seem to be “meaningless”.
For instance, every morning set your alarm clock one hour earlier than you normally would, go for a run or read a page from that one book that you always put off and never have time to read.
Make yourself some coffee and enjoy the time you have just for yourself.
That morning when you walk out of the house be ready to give a smile to a stranger – it doesn’t cost a thing and it could mean everything to somebody.
Don’t forget that this are the small things that make life big.
Don’t whine, but be thankful for everything – for a change.
Love unconditionally with a pure heart – for a change.
Believe and follow your dreams – for a change.
Stop listening to what others tell you to do and listen to the voice of your own heart – for a change.
